Plot Synopsis

THE PIZZA SHOW is a half-hour reality series that follows Frank Pinello -- the owner of Best Pizza in Williamsburg, Brooklyn -- as he travels around the world eating great pizza and meeting even greater people. From Brooklyn to Seoul, Chicago to New Haven, there's pizza culture everywhere, but it's the people we're most excited about. Vice Media first debuted THE PIZZA SHOW as a "Munchies" web series on March 14, 2016, nine months before the program made its linear television debut on Thursday, December 29, 2016 from 11pm-Midnight ET/PT, as Viceland debuted back-to-back episodes. In the night's first new episode (11pm), "Chicago," Frank reveals that the Windy City is not a one-note pizza city -- from its deep dish to tavern-style thin crust, there are no hard and fast rules when it comes to pizza. Whether Frank was learning about deep dish from Marc Malnati, making pizza with Rose at Vito & Nick's, or taking a dance lesson with the owner's of Freddy's pizza, one thing is clear in Chicago: this city has great pizza, and even greater people. Then, in the night's second episode (11:30pm), "New Haven," Frank kicks things off by hanging out with Gary Bimonte, co-owner of legendary pizzeria, Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana. He then spends some time with the owners of Zuppardi's and meets some true New Haven legends in the process. Season 2 of THE PIZZA SHOW premiered on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 10pm ET/PT on Viceland. The season opener, "The World's Largest Pizza Convention," chronicles the International Pizza Expo, the world's largest pizza convention, which takes place in Las Vegas. After a four-month break, THE PIZZA SHOW returned with new episodes on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 7pm ET/PT on Viceland. In the mid-season premiere, "Pizza in NYC's Other Boroughs," Frank has eaten his share of pizza in Manhattan and Brooklyn, but it's time for him to check out New York City's other boroughs -- Queens, Staten Island, and the Bronx -- to discover some of the city's best slices and pies. He starts off in Queens with Action Bronson for a slice tour of two of his favorite places. Then the show heads off to Staten Island with VICE security guard and foodie extraordinaire Vic Zagami to get some crispy bar pies and the legendary vodka pie at Goodfella's. The episode ends with a visit to the Bronx for a walk down Arthur Avenue with Mark Iacono, Frank's favorite pizza friend. Frank and Mark's walk is filled with fresh cheese, prosciutto, clams, tripe -- and, of course, more pizza.
