Plot Synopsis

PORTER RIDGE is a reality series that centers on the tight-knit community of colorful characters living in Spencer, 15 miles west of Bloomington, Indiana. On the Ridge, playing with bears, holding family demolition derbies, and wearing a shirt is optional, but their code of life is simple: respect the lord, love your family and watch each other's backs. This eccentric band of misfits often butt heads, but ultimately join together to keep their unique hilljack way of life afloat. These people are featured in PORTER RIDGE: Terry Porter, CEO and owner of Country Auto Parts, who is the fast-talking, shirtless, wild man in charge of the most legendary business on the Ridge; Jeff 'The Bear Man' Watson, the owner of eight Brown Bears, who has lived on the Ridge almost 20 years and treats his bears like family; 'Dirty' Andy Minnick, the Ridge's renowned hustler, who is always looking for a way to make a buck -- there's nothing he can't turn into cash; Kayla Wood, a local Ridge girl and country calendar model, who may look like the sexy girl next door but she is as feisty as they come; Danny Bob Saylor IV, the most longstanding employee of Country Auto, who is a no-nonsense, wisecracking, ex-Army, guy who can fix just about anything with an engine; Larry 'Elvis' Dean Martin, the local garbage man and Elvis look-alike, who is a good-natured momma's boy and an unlikely source of wisdom at times; Barry J. Moore, a former tree-climbing and national clogging champion, who rarely gets ruffled and prides himself on his quick wit and first class mullet; and Rusty, the 13-year-old son of Terry, who gets to drive a full size lifter and crush actual automobiles.

PORTER RIDGE returned with new episodes on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at 10pm ET/PT, as Discovery showed back-to-back new episodes. Picking up right where this crew left off, Terry is up to another one of his schemes and this time has the chance to buy his dream car, a legendary '72 Cutlass. In an attempt to get some quick cash, he gets a car crusher to the Junkyard -- but on the condition he can provide fifty cars to crush -- and resorts to drastic measures when he comes up short. Meanwhile, Jeff defends his bear's fishing skills to Barry and Elvis Larry, who think he's getting too domesticated and embark on a hunting trip with Bob.
