Plot Synopsis

PUT A RING ON IT is a one-hour reality series that follows four longtime couples, with help from master relationship coach Dr. Nicole LaBeach, who embark on the ultimate relationship test - by dating other people. From week to week the couples are pushed outside their comfort zones to confront the question they've been too afraid to ask: is this their happily ever after? The couples will finally find out if they are truly meant to be together in this experiment, and in so doing they'll discover if there's a love connection they've been missing all along. Will they decide it's time to go their separate ways, or is it finally time to put a ring on it? The Season 1 cast includes:

Eyuless and Mimi: There have been plenty of ups and downs in this six-year relationship. Yet despite the turbulence, Eyuless and Mimi agree that their love is still strong. However, there are plenty of issues that have stopped them from taking their relationship to the next level. Although they agree that they've made great strides in fixing their problems (and are healing from an incident of infidelity), deep down they both question whether too much damage has already been done. Can PAROI help this couple heal their wounds and move forward together or is it time to cut their losses?

Che and Michael: Che and Michael's relationship history is anything but typical. They've been in each other's lives for more than five years, but their two years of dating were actually separated by a three-year gap -- during which Michael was engaged to someone else! During their time apart, Michael never stopped caring for Che -- which ultimately led to the demise of Michael's other relationship. Now that they're back together, Che and Michael spend every possible moment together -- but things are far from perfect. Che questions Michael's ability to be faithful, as evidenced by both his past relationships and a recent slip-up that admittedly fell far short of actual infidelity. Michael, meanwhile, secretly harbors some doubts that Che is truly his soulmate and still hasn't introduced her to his mom! Can PAROI help this couple put their doubts to rest and move forward?

Ashley and Hollywood: Ashley and Hollywood have had a solid nine years together, and despite the minor squabbles that any couple faces, they seem to get along great. So why hasn't Hollywood popped the question? Well...he has. Five years ago, as a matter of fact. But somehow the proposal did not actually result in a marriage, and the anticipated dates came and went several times without a wedding materializing. Ashley broke off the engagement. But the two remained a couple and have been in limbo ever since. The irony is that now, after dragging his feet for years, Hollywood claims he's ready to give it another shot, but Ashley is plagued with doubts -- and now she's the one pumping the brakes. But there's one thing they both agree on -- it's time to put a ring on it or move on!

Vince and Tamika: It was love at first sight when this couple met on a film set -- at least for Vince. Although he knew Tamika was "the one" right away, Tamika took a lot more convincing. And despite their strong relationship, it seems Tamika continues to expect Vince to prove himself -- up to and including his worthiness as a potential husband. Vince has little doubt that Tamika is the one he wants to marry, but Tamika is holding onto some shady behavior Vince perpetrated by staying in contact with an ex at the beginning of their relationship. And although he's given her no concrete reason to doubt him since, Tamika can't shake the feeling that Vince is untrustworthy. Can PAROI help Vince prove himself to Tamika and enable her to fully accept his love?



PUT A RING ON IT returned for a second season on Friday, June 25, 2021 at 10pm ET/PT on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network, as three couples navigate their way to the altar with the help of master relationship coach Dr. Nicole LaBeach. The couples embark on the ultimate relationship test. Each week the couples are pushed, stretched, and tested to confront the question they've been too afraid to ask: is this their happily ever after? The couples will finally find out if they are truly meant to be together by dating other people, and in so doing, they'll discover if there's a love connection they've been missing all along. Will they decide it's time to go their separate ways, or is it finally time to put a ring on it? The Season 2 couples include:

Alexia/ Former Professional Basketball Player (34) and Darion aka Smoke/ Field Mob (40): Dating for 14 years, this couple is on until they are off again. After a decade of dating, the two have finally moved in together. Darion does not seem excited to walk down the aisle and Alexia is putting on the pressure.

LaRhonda/ Energy Industry Professional (32) and Jay/ Comedian (33): LaRhonda is a super successful woman who is constantly leveling up and Jay is a successful comedian. LaRhonda is the top earner in the relationship which makes Jay want to hit the breaks on marriage, despite dating each other for three years.. Before proposing and walking down the aisle, Jay wants to make sure he can meet LaRhonda halfway, financially.

Jessica/ Entrepreneur (30) and Eric/ Retired NFL Player (35): Eric is adjusting to life post-NFL and Jessica is adjusting to Eric being fully committed. This couple has been battling issues from Day One throughout their four years together. The two are not on the same page about when the couple was official.


Season 3 of PUT A RING ON IT premiered on Friday, March 25, 2022 at 9pm ET/PT on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network. During the 9-week experience, the Atlanta area couples are guided by Master Relationship Coach Dr. Nicole LaBeach, who has been helping couples discover their truths for over 25 years. Each week, the couples are pushed, stretched, and tested to confront the one question they've been too afraid to ask: is this pairing really ready for their 'happily ever after?' The couples go on a series of dates with other people and possibly discover if there's a better love connection they've been missing all along. By confronting these issues head-on, will the couples decide it's time to go their separate ways, or will it finally be time to 'put a ring on it?' The couples -- all of whom have been dating for three years -- are: Shay & Alfonzo; Charlies & Otis; and Shorty & Kenneth.

Throughout the months-long experience, the three Atlanta area couples are guided by Relationship Coach Dr. Stacii Jae Johnson, who has been helping couples discover their truths and healthy romantic relationships for more than 10 years. Each week, the couples are pushed, stretched, and tested to confront the one question they've been too afraid to ask: are they really ready for their 'happily ever after?' The couples go on a series of dates with other people to test the waters, and perhaps discover if there might be a better love connection out there that they've been missing all along. Their goal: to decide whether it's time to go their separate ways, or make the big leap and 'put a ring on it?' The three couple are: Dunbar and Chance (dating 2 years); Ricky and Catherine (dating 2 years); and Joya and Jasha (dating 2 years).
