Plot Synopsis
Hosted by Thomas 'Nephew Tommy' Miles of "The Steve Harvey Morning Show," READY TO LOVE is a reality series that explores the real-life dating interactions of sexy, successful and grown Black men and women in their 30s and 40s who are each looking for lasting love and an authentic relationship. This unique twist of a typical dating show highlights the men's observations and experiences in the search for true love in Atlanta. On Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 10pm ET/PT, OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network premiered "All Access," a half-hour special during which Nephew Tommy previews the reality series, which features 20 single people looking for love. READY TO LOVE had a two-night premiere Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at 10pm ET/PT and Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 10pm ET/PT.
The second part of READY TO LOVE's first season premiered on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 9pm ET/PT on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network, starting the season with a one-hour casting special. In the season opener, "Casting Special," host Tommy Miles and executive producer Will Packer introduce a new set of singles looking for love in Atlanta. But in a twist, there are now 10 men and 10 women, and the power to eliminate goes both ways. Meet them all and find out who's ready to love.
Season 2 of READY TO LOVE premiered on Friday, October 23, 2020 at 9pm ET/PT on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network, with Thomas "Nephew Tommy" Miles returning on a new night with an all-new cast from Houston, Texas to explore the real-life dating interactions of sexy, successful and grown Black men and women who are each looking for lasting love and an authentic relationship. But this season, there's a twist. The "Ready to Love" hopefuls have been quarantined together at a luxury mountain resort. The tables continue to turn each week as the men and women trade the power to eliminate those they deem not ready to love. In the end, three couples will remain. Participants in Season 3 include: Adriana, Alex, Alisha, Anthony, Brian, Danielle, David, Denice, Edwin, Jay, Joy, Khalfani, Kristopher, Nyya, Rashid, Raymond, Samuel, Shay, Symone, and Wynter.
READY TO LOVE returned for its third season on Friday, April 2, 2021 at 9pm ET/PT on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network. In "Meet the Singles," host Tommy Miles and his superfan wife, Jackie, introduce viewers to the men and women putting it all on the line to make a love connection this season in Houston, TX. Season 4 of READY TO LOVE premiered on Friday, October 15, 2021 at 9pm ET/PT on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network, immediately following a one-hour casting special (8pm). Host Nephew Tommy heads to Washington, DC, where 20 of Chocolate City's finest Black singles (ten men and ten women) are brought together in hopes of finding a true connection. there will be shocking curveballs throughout the season's journey, including surprise singles added to the mix and double eliminations. From mingling at the mansion mixer and pool party to meeting each other's families and exes, these singles will be tested in every way. On Friday, January 28, 2022 at 8pm ET/PT, OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network debuted the fifth season of READY TO LOVE. Host Tommy Miles is back to help a new group of single men and women find love in the DMV area. The new cast of men and women are looking for love from Maryland, Virginia and the D.C. area. With the shift to online dating apps, swiping right, and DMs, the journey to find love has turned into a numbers game. This season, Tommy guides the singles to find more meaningful and lasting relationships by shifting the focus from quantity to quality, and announcing that there are only 14 singles to start the journey: seven men and seven women. Every week, the power shifts between the fellas and the ladies as they decide who just isn't ready to love. But just like the mighty Potomac River, Tommy has twists and turns planned, including surprise blind dates to add NEW SINGLES to the mix. By the end, only the strongest couples will remain to decide whether they are genuinely Ready to Love. But it wouldn't be READY TO LOVE without curveballs, drama, and love triangles. In the season opener, "Miami Mixer," 20 singles arrive in Miami for a pool mixer, and Tommy advises them to seek love over lust -- but curveballs fly as one single leaves in an emergency, another is eliminated, and two more face the chopping block. The old adage that "The course of love never did run smooth" is proven to be truer than ever when these eager singles come together to meet, date, cross-date, group-date and re-date, all in an effort to discover and claim "the one." Season 10 of READY TO LOVE debuted on Friday, February 7, 2025 at 8pm ET/PT on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network. Hosted by comedian and actor, Thomas "Nephew Tommy" Miles, the dating series continues to explore the real-life romantic rollercoasters of successful and striking men and women in their 30s and 40s as they search for authentic relationships. Each week, the series follows couples as they embark on budding romances, hoping to transform them into lasting loves, all while navigating the twists, turns, and challenges presented by Tommy. "This season, we're on a mission to find singles in Philadelphia who are serious candidates for meaningful, real connections that are both healthy and productive - in leading to love and happiness," said Tommy.
