Plot Synopsis

Hosted and executive produced by Eugene Levy, THE RELUCTANT TRAVELER WITH EUGENE LEVY is a half-hour travel series that follows Levy as he visits some of the world's most beautiful destinations. Self-confessedly not your typical travel show host -- he's not usually adventurous or well-versed in exploring the world -- Levy agrees the time is finally right for him to broaden his horizons. Levy packs his suitcase with some trepidation but hopes his experiences might lead to a whole new chapter in life, even if it means confronting some of his long-held fears. Join him as he buckles up for the ultimate eye-opening adventure! In this series, Levy experiences local adventures with new friends, including immersing in a sound bath in the Maldives, ice floating in Finland, connecting with the Navajo Nation in Utah, captaining a sailboat in Lisbon, taking a bite out of the culinary culture of Tokyo, and journeying into the Costa Rican jungle. Along the way, Levy also stays in remarkable hotels, including the historic Gritti Palace in Venice and a train hotel suspended above Kruger National Park in South Africa. All eight episodes of THE RELUCTANT TRAVELER's first season dropped on Friday, February 24, 2023 on Apple TV+.

Season 2 of THE RELUCTANT TRAVELER WITH EUGENE LEVY debuted on Friday, March 8, 2024 on Apple TV+, which released the first two episodes of the new season. A new installments drops weekly on Fridays through April 12. Eugene Levy steps out of his comfort zone once again. This time, he's embarking on a must-do journey for any respectable globe-trotter -- a grand tour of Europe. The seven-part second season follows Levy as he makes his way from the very north of the continent to the very south. Along the way, he unearths stunning hidden local gems, discovers his family tree and attempts to broaden his taste buds while experiencing the region's unique destinations along the way. Join him as he goes on the trip of a lifetime he never knew he needed. This season, Levy ventures even further off the beaten path, inspired to experience local practices and global escapades with friends both new and old, including preparing for Midsummer in Swedish tradition with a moose-tracking adventure, visiting his mother's childhood homeland of Scotland for the first time, dining with a luminary and taking a bite out of French cuisine in Saint-Tropez, embracing wellness with a hay bath under German thatched roofs on the island of Sylt, voyaging on a Greek fishing expedition around Milos, learning medieval customs and harvesting grapes in Italy, and playing soccer with an iconic Spanish star in Seville, Spain.
