Plot Synopsis
Licensed contractor John DeSilvia helps homeowners finish renovations that their contractors started, but botched or left unfinished. Whether the original work had bad plumbing, shoddy framing, or unsound structural integrity, John D and his team have just a few days to make everything right. Each 30-minute episode features a job for a different homeowner, including: Chris and Dolores Holman, whose unqualified contractor did the work entirely too quickly and completely incorrectly, with cracks in a wall and a leak in the upstairs crawlspace; Roxanne Dunn, a single mother and former Miss New Jersey, whose contractor left the job unfinished six years ago -- just before their flat, improperly pitched roof caved in and destroyed the shell of a kitchen below; Amy and Patrick McCay, who hired a contractor to put a new roof on their house, but what they got were devastating leaks that wrecked their dream home and a lawsuit from the contractor who injured himself while drinking on the job; Tim and Kathy Burden, whose contractor left after 10 day of renovating their downstairs bathroom and entranceway to make the space ADA compliant, but not after taking the couple's entire savings of $160,000; Keith and Jessica Oechsner, who hired a contractor to remodel their kitchen and upstairs bathrooms, but he took the money and ran before completing the bathroom; and many more homeowners left high and dry by their contractors. RESCUE MY RENOVATION returned for a second season on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 9pm ET/PT on DIY Network, with a season opener featuring a couple left with pipes that backed up and leaked after a simple washer and dryer installation went wrong. RESCUE MY RENOVATION returned for its third season on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 8pm ET/PT on DIY Network. In the Season 3 premiere, Laura had no choice but to stop work on her new mud room being added to the back of her house when pipes began to function poorly and she was able to see through walls to the outside.

Season 4 of RESCUE MY RENOVATION premiered on Monday, October 19, 2015 from 9-10pm ET/PT, as DIY Network premiered back-to-back new episodes as part of a nine-hour marathon (7pm-4am) that also included encore episodes from Season 3. In the season opener (9pm), "What Lies Beneath," John has to work quickly to secure an extension pulling away from the original structure, and the safety of the family is in John's hands. Then, in the night's second new episode (9:30pm), "Stucco on You," John takes on a new house with severe water damage, which is causing its brick veneer to separate from the face of the house.
