Plot Synopsis

RICO TO THE RESCUE is a one-hour docuseries that follows builder Rico Leon and his team, as they help Denver homeowners salvage renovations that have gone off the rails. Driven by his parents' past experience with a crooked contractor, Rico is an advocate for desperate families who need an empathetic expert to fix their stressful situations. In each episode, he and his skilled team will tour the house to assess the projects, work to resolve issues with the builder, and create a renovation and design plan to turn the construction nightmare into a beautiful home.

On Friday, December 16, 2022 at 11am ET/PT, HGTV premiered "Rescued Restoration," a sneak-peek episode of RICO TO THE RESCUE. New parents are emotionally and financially stressed after a fire destroys their home and the relationship with a contractor takes a terrible turn. Rico and his team arrive with a plan to deliver the right renovation.

RICO TO THE RESCUE officially debuted on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 9pm ET/PT on HGTV. In this episode, "Carpenter Chaos," a couple's plan to build a nursery and main bedroom in their basement is now more than a year past due and the relationship with their contractor has turned nasty. After a failed mediation, Rico brings in his team to get their renovation back on track.

Season 2 of RICO TO THE RESCUE premiered on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 9pm ET/PT on HGTV. During the nine-episode new season, builder Rico Leon continues helping Denver homeowners salvage renovations that have gone off the rails. Driven by his parents' past experience with a crooked contractor, Rico is an advocate for desperate families who need an empathetic expert to fix their stressful situations. During the nine-episode run, he and his skilled team tour the house to assess the projects, work to resolve issues with the builder, and create a renovation and design plan to turn the construction nightmare into a dream home.

In the season opener, "Two-Story Troubles," Rico meets homeowners Brock and Zhanna, a couple whose contractor took more than $100,000 to start their home renovation but never finished, leaving a family with few options to finish their two-story renovation. After taking a look at the tarped roof and exposed framing left by the builder, Rico and his team determine how best to complete the job that will give the family of four the added living space, bedroom and bathroom they've wanted for more than two years.
