Plot Synopsis
Retired Detective Inspector Alex Ridley is called back to advise on a complex and compelling murder case by his replacement and former protege DI Carol Farman. Carol is keen to access Ridley's unique insight into crime-solving which served them so well in the past, but the investigation takes a dark and unexpected twist. RIDLEY made its U.S. debut on Sunday, June 18, 2023 at 8pm on PBS (check local listings). Episodes include:
"The Peaceful Garden (Part 1)" (U.S. debut on Sunday, June 18, 2023): When a local farmer is found dead, Ridley is called on by his ex-colleague and newly promoted DI Carol Farman to assist on a missing persons case that remains unsolved after 13 years.
"The Peaceful Garden (Part 2)" (U.S. debut on Sunday, June 25, 2023): Ridley always suspected the initial investigation into the unsolved case was flawed, and that the wrong man was tried for Hannah Lindsay's abduction. As they delve deeper, the discovery of another body leads to a shocking secret.
"Hospitality (Part 1)" (U.S. debut on Sunday, July 2, 2023): When the body of a young woman is found buried in a shallow grave on a bleak Pennine moorland, Carol calls in Ridley to assist with the case. But the victim is not all she seemed to be. Ridley discovers she has been leading a secret double life.
"Hospitality (Part 2)" (U.S. debut on Sunday, July 9, 2023): Ridley discovers a murder victim was leading a secret double life. In order to solve the mystery of Gabriela's true origins, Ridley needs to track down her killer, and finally lay her to rest.
"Swansong (Part 1)" (U.S. debut on Sunday, July 16, 2023): After a chance encounter with jazz singer Eve Marbury, Ridley agrees to help find Eve's brother Luke, missing for 40 years.
"Swansong (Part 2)" (U.S. debut on Sunday, July 23, 2023): Ridley's initial inquiries into the search for Luke Marbury draw a blank, but when a woman is found dead, Ridley finds a connection. Further links between the case and dark secrets carefully buried for decades begin to emerge.
"The Numbered Days (Part 1)" (U.S. debut on Sunday, July 30, 2023): Ridley and Carol are called out to investigate the suspicious death of a man after a fall from his balcony. The prime suspect is the victim's younger brother.
"The Numbered Days (Part 2)" (U.S. debut on Sunday, August 6, 2023): Ridley discovers a shocking connection between the murder case and the arson attack which killed his own family. Ridley finds himself closing in on the truth of what happened on that fateful night.

Season 2 of RIDLEY made its U.S. debut on Sunday, September 15, 2024 on PBS at 8pm (check local listings). Episodes in the new season include:
"A Sleeping Tiger (Part 1)" (U.S. debut on Sunday, September 15, 2024): Ridley investigates a jewelry heist that turns into a murder case, working with an undercover source whose cover soon risks being compromised. Ridley checks out the manager of the jewelry company, thinking it could've been an inside job.
"A Sleeping Tiger (Part 2)" (U.S. debut on Sunday, September 22, 2024): Ridley and Carol are close to cracking the murder of a local man. Their leads unveils connections to a stud farm, a drug dealer, and a wealthy businessman. The missing piece is held by an unlikely person with a closely guarded secret.
"The Hollow Tree (Part 1)" (U.S. debut on Sunday, September 29, 2024): When a decomposed body is discovered deep in the woods, Ridley unearths a connection to a cold case. Ridley brings disgraced ex-copper Jean Dixon back to investigate. Jean's personal life with new boyfriend Ross soon becomes compromised.
"The Hollow Tree (Part 2)" (U.S. debut on Sunday, October 6, 2024): Ridley's investigation into the body found in a hollow tree leads him to suspect different men in the victim's life. When another body is found murdered, with links to disgraced ex-copper Jean Dixon, the pressure builds to find the killer.
"Fool for Love (Part 1)" (U.S. debut on Sunday, October 13, 2024): A man is shot dead during an illegal rave on a building site. Ridley and the team investigate, bringing them into the murky world of the victim's wealthy family who hold a closely guarded secret. Carol becomes worried about her son Jack.
"Fool for Love (Part 2)" (U.S. debut on Sunday, October 20, 2024): With Carol off the case, Ridley races to discover who shot Oliver in the hope of protecting Jack from becoming the team's prime suspect. But things take a turn for the worse when Ridley finds the murder weapon hidden in a shocking location.
"The Memory Jar (Part 1)" (U.S. debut on Sunday, October 27, 2024): In the serene village of Colden Vale, the tranquility is shattered when Tara Dunning, a beloved local wife and mother, mysteriously vanishes. Ridley and Carol investigate and must locate her before it's too late, but a chilling discovery soon alters the course of their enquiry.
"The Memory Jar (Part 2)" (U.S. debut on Sunday, November 3, 2024): Following the shocking discovery of a body in Colden Vale village, Ridley intensifies his efforts to unravel the mystery of what happened to missing wife and mother Tara Dunning. Along with Carol and the team, Ridley races against time to prevent further tragedies before it's too late.
