Plot Synopsis

Created by Jay and Mark Duplass, ROOM 104 is a half-hour anthology series that tells assorted tales of the various characters who pass through a single room of an average American motel. Embracing the idea that "the banal" can be a most interesting place if you stop and take a look, each of the 30-minute episodes tells a different story, as the room stays the same everything else -- the tone, the plot, the characters, even the time period -- changes. Ranging from comedy to drama to horror, each story plays like a mini-movie, offering a new discovery from one week to the next, telling tales of everyday people striving for connection and meaning. In the series opener, "Ralphie," written by Mark Duplass, things go horribly awry when a babysitter (Melonie Diaz) arrives at Room 104 to watch an unusual boy named Ralph (Ethan Kent). Ross Partridge also stars. On Friday, November 9, 2018 from 11:30pm-12:30am ET/PT, HBO premiered the second season of ROOM 104, debuting back-to-back new episodes. ROOM 104 returned for its fourth and final season on Friday, July 24, 2020 at 11pm ET/PT on HBO. The premiere episode marks the first time in the series that Mark Duplass stars, writes, directs and performs original music.
