Plot Synopsis

Hosted by renovation expert Carter Oosterhouse, ROWHOUSE SHOWDOWN is a one-hour reality series that follows three couples that each transform a dilapidated home in Cincinnati, Ohio, while living there, as they vie for the grand prize: $50,000 cash and a "Dwell" magazine feature for their home renovation. In each 60-minute episode, the teams are given the same budget and time period for similar reno jobs -- transforming trashed living rooms, fixing up master bedrooms, and redoing bathrooms -- as they try to impress the judges: designer Kathy Kuo; Cincinnati-based house flipper Jim Bronzie; and "Dwell" Editor-in-Chief Amanda Dameron. The team that increases the appeal of their home to the max goes home with the grand prize. The competing couples are: San Diego contestants Geoff & Josh, who have been flipping homes as a team for six years; Los Angeles contestants Ted & Krystal, who want to eventually make flipping houses their career so they are out to prove that they can win this competition side-by-side; and Minnesota contestants Katie & Dan, who have been flipping homes now for 10 years, having bought their first home at 21. These three couple rehab rowhouses at 775 & 783 Summit Ave. and a single-family home at 741 Hawthorne Ave. in Cincinnati.
