Plot Synopsis

Based on the true story of the 2018 Novichok poisonings and the impact it had on a local community, THE SALISBURY POISONINGS is a limited drama series that tells the remarkable story of how ordinary people and public services reacted to a crisis on their doorstep, displaying extraordinary heroism as their city became the focus of an unprecedented national emergency. At the heart of our retelling of the events that occurred in Salisbury in 2018, is a story about the internal mechanisms of a public health crisis response. It follows the work of a public servant called Tracy Daszkiewicz, the Director of Public Health of Wiltshire Council, as she works with colleagues to try to combat a lethal and invisible enemy that has appeared out of nowhere. The public health response team of which Tracy is a part instigates a lockdown. They close a local economy. They set up an elaborate system of contact tracing and testing. They source and distribute Personal Protective Equipment for use on the frontlines. And they deal, every day, with a terrified and frustrated public. They all wonder -- both Tracy and the people she is trying to protect -- whether life will ever be the same again. The answer, in the end, is that catastrophe forces us to look in the mirror, and to confront who we really are. After that, things are never really the same. After airing as a three-part series in the UK, THE SALISBURY POISONINGS had its U.S. premiere on Thursday, October 1, 2020 on AMC+, which released the series in four parts on the same day.

THE SALISBURY POISONINGS had its U.S. linear television debut on AMC on Monday, January 25, 2021 at 10pm ET/PT, with the cable channel airing a new episode each Monday at 10pm through February 15. In the series opener, the Skripals and DS Bailey fight to survive, whilst the Director of Public Health in Wiltshire, Tracy Daszkiewicz, and the emergency services try to locate the source of the nerve agent to prevent further casualties.

On Monday, February 15, 2021 at 10pm ET/PT, AMC aired the linear television premiere of the season finale of THE SALISBURY POISONINGS. Nick struggles to adjust to life post-Novichok; Tracy learns that the contamination radius may be even bigger than last time; and the poisoning proves fatal for Dawn Sturgess.
