Plot Synopsis

Facing new challenges after his 14-year-old daughter, Ellie, moves in with him full time, Sean must learn to balance parenthood with his demanding career at an online retail company, while dealing with his pushy mom, Lorna, who gives tactless advice. Sean's intent on being the best dad ever, so he loads up on parenting how-to books and plans Pinterest-worthy family dinners, but his new boss, Max, has decided Sean and his team should work longer hours. This new arrangement has put a kink in Sean's perfectly constructed work/life balance, but Ellie sees this development as a plus, because her dad's clearly going overboard and she'd rather hang with her friends and eat on the run. At the office, Sean works with: Hunter, who in his spare time is a musician, artist, photographer and poet; and Liz, his long-time loyal friend, who quit working as a therapist because she couldn't listen to people without telling them what to do. SEAN SAVES THE WORLD debuted on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 9pm ET/PT on NBC.
