Plot Synopsis

SECRETS OF THE ZOO: TAMPA is a one-hour docuseries that focuses on the animals and veterinary staff at ZooTampa at Lowry Park in Tampa, Florida, going behind the scenes to explore the "relationships and connections between our zoological team and the more than 1,200 animals entrusted to our care," according to ZooTampa CEO Joe Couceiro's public statement. In the series opener, "Stingray Stunner," the ZooTampa family is growing as Ceduna the female koala has a baby inside her pouch. Later, after the team notices some changes in Bruce the tortoise, Dr. Maldonado checks his heart to see if anything is wrong.

The sophomore season of SECRETS OF THE ZOO: TAMPA premiered on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at 9pm ET/PT on Nat Geo Wild. In the season opener, "All Iguana Do," a 16-month wait for a rare Indian rhino baby has the ZooTampa team on edge.
