Plot Synopsis
THE SHATNER PROJECT is a half-hour reality series that follows television icon William Shatner and his wife, Elizabeth, as they renovate their outdated 1970s California home. From demolition to design, William boldly goes into the new adventure of home remodeling -- and takes on a new role as project manager -- for a renovation that includes a new kitchen, living room, dining room, and patio, as well as his favorite hangout spot: the media room. The premiere episode features the Shatners, with the help of a designer and a construction crew, as they gut the kitchen for a complete remodel. After the removal of the old, creaky appliances and a "hateful" ice machine, William and Elizabeth get in on the action by wielding sledgehammers to help demolish the old cabinets, countertops and tile backsplashes. The new kitchen -- much to William's disbelief -- features multiple ovens and refrigerators.

On Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 10pm ET/PT, DIY network debuted the season finale of THE SHATNER PROJECT. In the season ender, "Party Room (The Big Media Room)," the room in which the Shatners host their weekly football parties is no longer functional, and the dark, worn furnishings are beyond outdated. William and Elizabeth want the space completely re-imagined and they're using a painting they purchased in Greece as the inspiration. Their designer will execute their vision by completely remodeling the kitchenette that's in the room with new counters, cabinets and fixtures. Their old worn out carpeting will be replaced with hardwoods, the oppressive cathedral ceilings will get a white wash treatment that greatly opens up the room and of course all new furniture will breathe new life into the room.
