Plot Synopsis
Based on the best-selling novel by Stephen Hunter, "Point of Impact," and the 2007 theatrical film, SHOOTER is a one-hour drama series that follows exiled expert marksman Bob Lee Swagger, a highly-decorated war hero, who, after learning of a plot to kill the president, is coaxed back into action by his former commanding officer, ex-Marine Isaac Johnson. Meanwhile, FBI agent Nadine Memphis investigates potential assassins. Ultimately double-crossed and framed for the attempt, Bob Lee goes on the run to find the real killer and the reason he was set up. Executive produced by Mark Wahlberg, Stephen Levinson, Lorenzo di Bonaventura, John Hlavin, and Phillippe, SHOOTER was originally scheduled to debut July 19, 2016, but was postponed one week after the police shootings in Dallas on July 7 and delayed indefinitely following the police shootings in Baton Rouge on July 17. SHOOTER returned for its second season on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at 10pm ET/PT on USA Network. In Season 2, Bob Lee must confront a nemesis from his past in order to return to a life of normalcy. In the season opener, "The Hunting Party," Bob Lee and wife Julie join his former Marine unit in Germany and narrowly escape a deadly terrorist attack. FBI Agent Nadine Memphis takes a job in Washington with Patricia Gregson. Season 3 of SHOOTER premiered on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at 10pm ET/PT on USA Network. In the third season, mysterious details are revealed surrounding his father Earl's death, leading Bob Lee towards a startling conspiracy that hits close to home. The season opener, "Backroads," picks up from Season 2's cliffhanger. Bob Lee Swagger is taken hostage by Solotov, the world's greatest assassin. Julie and Isaac team up to help bring him home safely. Nadine confronts Senator Hayes about his connection to Atlas. A surprising piece of information about Bob Lee's own father sets off a whole new mission, while back in D.C., a mysterious operative begins plotting an attack.
