Plot Synopsis

SHUT IT OFF ASAP is a six-episode docuseries that follows Mitchell Moffit and Gregory Brown to a remote farm in Canada, where they try their hand at turning off access to their basic needs in order to find sustainable alternatives. In each episode, they turn off access to one necessity -- like food, power, water, cooling, and some guilty pleasures -- while incorporating alternatives ASAP. They use hard science to go green with everything from regenerative farming to a hot tub powered by garbage. FarmTubers, First Nations guides, and experts join them to help execute a vision of living completely off the grid and deliver takeaways that can be replicated back at home. In the series opener, "Can We Forage All Our Calories from the Wild?," Mitchell and Gregory have gone off the grid and are searching for calories and protein in the most unconventional ways. Fortunately an indigenous chef has come along to help to make sure they don't accidentally die of food poisoning. All six episodes of SHUT IT OFF ASAP dropped on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 3pm ET/Noon PT on YouTube Premium, with the first two installments available for free on the AsapSCIENCE YouTube Channel.
