Plot Synopsis

SIGNS OF A PSYCHOPATH is a half-hour docuseries that revisits some of the most dangerous killers in modern history, reviewing news footage -- and the words of the killers themselves -- to see which terrifying traits each killer exhibited: charm, narcissism, lack of empathy, impulsiveness, manipulation, deception. In the series opener, "Chase Me," a 50-year-old woman is found dead in her home. All that's left behind is a note that reads, "Chase me." But when detectives uncover the killer, they quickly discover they have come face to face with a remorseless psychopath.

A new season of SIGNS OF A PSYCHOPATH debuted on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at 10pm ET/PT on Investigation Discovery. In the season opener, "I'm Not Your Typical Murderer," a graduate student calls 911 to say she just shot her boyfriend, a 29-year-old attorney, in self-defense; police soon discover that her story doesn't add up and realize they are face-to-face with a psychopath.

The seventh season of SIGNS OF A PSYCHOPATH premiered with back-to-back episodes on Sunday, June 2, 2024 from 10-11pm ET/PT on Investigation Discovery. In the season opener, "I Love Something So I Kill It" (10pm), on a quiet winter night, a mother finds her 22-year-old son horrifically dismembered in her basement. The lone suspect is the victim's ex-girlfriend, who is at her home in an emotionless state, with blood on her hands. Then, in the night's second episode, "I Slept with a Knife" (10:30pm), weeks after an 18-year-old is reported missing by a friend, his clothes are found burned in a trash can behind a suburban house; witnesses lead investigators to a young man with a violent past; they quickly discover he had an accomplice.

On Monday, August 26, 2024 at 10pm ET/PT, Investigation Discovery premiered "Fatal Fury," the one-hour Season 7 finale of SIGNS OF A PSYCHOPATH. A sadist blames his girlfriend's murder on a friend, but after a visit from his aunt, he spills the terrible truth; two kids are dead, and the killer refuses to talk to police.
