Plot Synopsis

A SINISTER SECT is a six-part documentary series that tells the story of German preacher Paul Schafer, who established a youth home in post-World War II Germany, but he was soon accused of abuse. He fled to Chile, where he started a new colony. In Chile, word got out about Schafer, so he established a free hospital to win favor with the locals. Schafer and his colony of German Christians became instrumental to Pinochet's reign. The entire six-episode series dropped on Friday, October 1, 2021 on Netflix.
