This series counts down the 16 greatest teams in the history of college basketball, as chosen by a CBS panel of 31 experts, including CBS Sports announcers and producers, CBS Sports Network talent and CBSSports.com writers. According to CBSSports.com's Basketball Insider, Gary Parrish, "One common thread you'll see when the list of teams that made the CBS 16 is unveiled is that many of them have a transcendent player -- somebody who dominated the game at the collegiate level, then went on to be a good or great pro." Which team will be #1? Will it be Rick Pitino's 1996 Kentucky team, John Wooden's 1968 UCLA Bruins, Bob Knight's 1976 Indiana Hoosiers, John Wooden's 1973 UCLA Bruins, Dean Smith's 1982 UNC Tar Heels, or Mike Krzyzewski's 1992 Duke Blue Devils? Airing on two consecutive nights, starting the Monday after the 2012 Sweet Sixteen was decided, each 30-minute episode highlights four teams in the countdown.
