Plot Synopsis

STALKED: SOMEONE'S WATCHING profiles the emotional stories of stalking victims, while exploring the twisted psychology of the people who relentlessly pursued them. From obsessed former lovers to unrelenting acquaintances fueled by the thrill of the chase, stalkers can have a range of motivations, but all instill a perpetual fear within their victims. In this series, the victims and their families recount their personal experiences and provide first-hand insight into effective steps they took to protect themselves from the insidious behavior employed by their stalkers. Plus, host Dr. Michelle Ward -- a criminal psychologist whose expertise is neuroscience and who has personal experience as a stalking victim -- provides insight into the possible thoughts and motivations of the stalker, offering practical tips how others can protect themselves: alert law enforcement if you believe you are being stalked; document all interactions between yourself and your alleged stalker in a detailed log; inform your family, friends, neighbors and coworkers with a description of your alleged stalker; and develop a safety plan that includes varying daily schedules and avoiding traveling alone. Stories include: intimate partners stalking their former loves; neighbors who become compulsively vindictive as friendships cross the line; and acts of relatively random stalking where the culprit barely knows their victim. Season 3 premiered on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at 10pm ET/PT, with back-to-back, new, 30-minute episodes.

This series returned for its fourth season on Monday, December 9, 2013 at 10pm ET/PT, as Investigation Discovery aired back-to-back new episodes. The season opener featured single mother Dawn Hillyer, who was stalked by Mike McClellan -- threatening her reputation and life -- after she decided to move on. In the night's second episode, John Peck, who stopped at nothing to get his revenge when a newspaper article exposed his dark past, shortly after his college sweetheart, Christen Naujoks, broke things off with him.
