Plot Synopsis
STARS ON MARS is a one-hour reality series that follows 12 celebrities, as they colonize, compete and conquer "Mars" until there is one victorious space invader, who will claim the title of "the brightest star in the galaxy." Celebrities ditch their jerseys, business suits and red carpet gowns for the ultimate attire -- an astronaut suit. Once on "Mars," this group of stars receives interstellar assignments from legendary actor and STAR TREK icon William Shatner, who serves as Mission Control.
For this series, celebrities live, eat, sleep, strategize and bond with each other in the same space station. During their stay, they are faced with authentic conditions that simulate life on Mars, and they must use their brains and brawn -- or maybe just their stellar social skills -- to outlast the competition and claim the title of "brightest star in the galaxy." The celebrities compete in missions and vote to eliminate one of their crewmates each week, sending them back to Earth. The 12 celebrities are:
- Former Professional Road-Racing Cyclist and Investor Lance Armstrong
- Comedian, Actress and Writer Natasha Leggero
- Former Super Bowl Champion, Community Advocate and Entrepreneur Marshawn Lynch
- Widely known Comedic Actor Christopher Mintz-Plasse
- Olympic Figure Skater and TV Personality Adam Rippon
- Professional Wrestler and UFC champion, Olympic Medalist and Actress Ronda Rousey
- Television Personality and Restaurateur Tom Schwartz
- Sports Analyst and Professional Football Player Richard Sherman
- Multi-Platinum-Certified POP & R&B Disruptor, Singer, Songwriter and Dancer Tinashe
- Television Personality, Actress and Author Porsha Williams Guobadia
- Entrepreneur and Artist Tallulah Willis
- SAG Award-Winning Actress and Producer Ariel Winter
On Monday, July 10, 2023, four new celebronauts joined the seven remaining crew mates, landing on Mars amidst a micro-meteorite shower. The meteors have punctured the walls of the hab creating a large number of tiny holes causing the oxygen levels inside the hab to plummet. The 11 celebronauts need to work together to plug the holes until the hab can be fixed. This mission tests the contestant's endurance and will earn them another mission patch. The four new celebronauts are:
- Celebrity chef Cat Cora
- Reality TV Personality Ashley Iaconetti
- NBA All-Star Paul Pierce
- Comedian & Actor Andy Richter

On Monday, August 28, 2023 at 8pm ET/PT, FOX premiered "Brightest Star," the season finale of STARS ON MARS. The five remaining crewmates -- Cat Cora, Paul Pierce, Adam Rippon, Tinashe, and Porsha -- endure their last days on the red planet with a suspenseful double-extraction, followed by the final three stars competing in a concluding double-phase mission. To be the last celebronaut standing, the surviving space invaders must correctly answer trivia questions from the hab manual and advance to the final challenge, where they must properly assemble a satellite tower and broadcast a personalized message to Earth. Find out who outlasts the competition and claims the title of brightest star in the galaxy.
