Plot Synopsis
Using first-person interviews;accompanied by re-creations, actual texts, phone records and other digital breadcrumbs that authorities used to solve the case, #TEXTMEWHENYOUGETHOME is a one-hour docuseries that follows the case of an innocent woman who has been abducted, harmed or even murdered by someone on what was an otherwise average day in her life. #TextMeWhenYouGetHome became a viral, worldwide movement following the 2021 death of Sarah Everard in the UK. The hashtag sparked global awareness, anger and a conversation around the vulnerability and lack of safety women feel while in public alone. Now, in this series, stories unfold as a whodunnit, and all suspects are explored until the actual perpetrator is caught. In several episodes, survivors of these harrowing sagas will be revealed to tell their story, in their own words.
The sophomore season of #TEXTMEWHENYOUGETHOME premiered with back-to-back episodes on Monday, August 7, 2023 from 8-10pm ET/PT on Lifetime, with Ashley Judd lending her voice for the new season. Season 2 follows the cases of women who have been abducted, harmed or even murdered by someone on what was an otherwise average day in their lives. In the season opener, "Miya Marcano" (8pm), the family of Miya Marcano share the agonizing details of what happened around the beautiful, 19-year old's disappearance. Miya's mother Yma Scarbriel, brother Marlon and others explain how texts to Miya from an unknown man were the key to finding her abductor. Then, in the second episode, "Madison Nygard" (9pm), those closest to Madison Nygard share the agonizing details around the beautiful, 16-year old's terrifying abduction as she walked home from a party. Her mother, friends and authorities explain how Madison's attack would ultimately uncover clues leading police to a gruesome discovery they didn't see coming.
