Plot Synopsis
In this half-hour reality series, professional security experts Scott McDonald and Connie Ribble go undercover at grocery stores, convenience stores, liquor stores, and other food and beverage retailers, exposing internal flaws and offering advice on how to prevent future loss. Using tactics they learned from decades of busts that border on the unbelievable, Scott and Connie go to the extremes to prevent theft. First, by exposing and testing vulnerabilities at each location, Scott and Connie dress up in wigs and disguises to "steal" from their clients, sometimes even competing in a "steal-off" to see who can walk out with more products without paying. Then, with the help of their hidden cameras, they look to apprehend shoplifters red-handed. Scott and Connie get inside the minds of shoplifters, as they go to extraordinary measures to stop ordinary crooks, and show owners how quickly small items can add up to much bigger losses -- American businesses have over 25 million dollars in theft every day. With almost 30 years of experience, Scott has been a cop and a private investigator, and in 1994 became the CEO and owner of Monument Security. Connie serves as the Director of Loss Prevention at Monument Security. Annually, the company handles more than 100 clients across the U.S., including Whole Foods, Barnes & Noble and H&M. In each 30-minute episode of THIEVES, INC., Connie and Scott help a different business.
