Plot Synopsis
TRIPTANK is a half-hour animated sketch comedy series, showcasing a wide range of animation styles that are created by a varied list of creators, ranging from new voices to established comedic talent. TRIPTANK weaves together stand-alone shorts as well as recurring narrative pieces. The series premiere featured these shorts: a suicidal chicken that interrupts a wedding; Ricky the Rocketship's educational trip to the moon with eager children goes horribly wrong; and aliens who have to sleep with Jeff's mom to cure her cancer. Subsequent episodes included: a drunk rhino trying to get into a charity organization; pranks played on Gary; and more. Four months before the official series premiere, Comedy Central aired the pilot episode of TRIPTANK on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at 10:30pm ET/PT, which included the talents of Bob Odenkirk, Larry David, Zach Galafianakis, Kumail Nanjiani, Brett Gelman and Kyle Kinane. Season 2 of TRIPTANK premiered on Friday, September 25, 2015 at Midnight ET/PT on Comedy Central. Season 1 favorites "Suck It Gary," "Ricky the Rocketship," "Bethiffer," "Jeff & Some Aliens" and "Animal Hitman" are coming back for more, and Season 2 introduces "Rest Assured," created by Mike Clattenberg, among hundreds of other animated shorts. Voice talent this season includes Amy Schumer, Britanny Snow, Margaret Cho, Jemaine Clement, David Cross, Andrew Dice Clay, Key & Peele, Kristen Johnston, Cheryl Hines, Nick Swardson and Niecy Nash. The 10-episode third season of TRIP TANK premiered on Monday, June 20, 2016 at 10pm ET/PT on Comedy Central, taking things just a little bit further through a variety of animation styles, featuring a broad range of formats including 2D, stop-motion and CGI. Voice talent this run includes Margaret Cho, Andrew Dice Clay, Jemaine Clement, Kevin Dillon, Jon Hamm, David Hasselhoff, Cheryl Hines, Kristen Johnston, Tom Kenny, Tom Lennon, Niecy Nash, Ne-Yo, Paul Reiser, Nick Swardson and Wendie Malick.
