Plot Synopsis

In this second installment of the TRUE CRIME STORY franchise, Jena Friedman travels the country to unspool real cases on the ground, but unlike most true crime shows, this one doesn't end when the criminal gets locked up. Jena finds there's always more to the story and drives to a different outcome beyond the simple whodunnit. Using her unflinching comedic point of view and disarming interview skills, Jena uncovers the "why" and "how" not only of crimes themselves, but of the sometimes dysfunctional criminal justice system. This six-episode series premiered on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 11pm ET/PT on SundanceTV.

After nearly a yearlong break, TRUE CRIME STORY: INDEFENSIBLE returned with new episodes on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at 10pm ET/PT on SundanceTV. Earlier the same day, AMC+ released the first two episodes. Host Jena Friedman is back to wring the real truth out of true crime. In the first new episode, "Junk Science," a seemingly innocent man in Palm Bay, FL, is found guilty of murder and sentenced to life in prison; the strongest evidence against him is a debunked form of forensic science.
