Plot Synopsis

Narrated by Maggie Gyllenhaal and produced by Brian Knappenberger, TRUTH AND POWER is a ten-part documentary series that answers the simple question: What happens when private institutions and governments abuse their power and break the public trust? Each half-hour episode features a different story of an ordinary person going to extraordinary lengths to reveal corporate exploitation and infringement on civil liberties resulting from government overreach. Using probing interviews, original footage, and newly unearthed documents, TRUTH AND POWER explores the issues of security, surveillance, profiteering, digital privacy, and racial inequality.

On Friday, March 25, 2016 at 10pm ET/PT, Pivot premiered the season finale of TRUTH AND POWER. The season ender, "Flying Robots," chronicles how drones already cloud America's skies, investigating whether weaponized drones, already used by the military, will become commonplace. A group of activists battle to regulate this Wild West of tech.
