Plot Synopsis

TRUTH BE TOLD is an anthology drama series that explores America's obsession with true crime podcasts, with a different story each season.

In Season 1, when new evidence compels podcaster Poppy Parnell to reopen the murder case that made her a national sensation, she comes face to face with Warren Cave, the man she may have mistakenly helped to put behind bars. Poppy's long-time friend, former detective Markus Knox, drops a bombshell about a potential suspect's motive; meanwhile, Warren gets a visitor. Now that a new suspect had been identified, it has unintended consequences on Poppy's personal life. On Friday, December 6, 2019 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, Apple TV+ released the first three episodes TRUTH BE TOLD. An additional episode is released each subsequent Friday.

The sophomore season of TRUTH BE TOLD premiered on Friday, August 20, 2021, as Apple TV+ released the first episode of the new season. A new episode drops each Friday through October 22. In Season 2, Poppy dives into a new case that deeply involves her childhood friend, media mogul Micah Keith. As developments unfold, their lifelong friendship is put to the ultimate test.

Season 3 of TRUTH BE TOLD debuted on Friday, January 20, 2023 on Apple TV+. One episode drops each week through March 24. In the new season, Poppy is frustrated by the lack of media attention for several young missing Black girls, so she teams with an unorthodox principal to keep the victims' names in the public eye, while chasing down leads to a suspected sex trafficking ring that may have ensnared them.
