Plot Synopsis

UNDER SUSPICION: UNCOVERING THE WESPHAEL CASE is a five-episode docuseries that follows the high-profile case of Belgian politician Bernard Wesphael, who was accused of murdering his wife in 2013. The story opens with a trip to coastal Ostend, which turns tragic when Veronique Pirotton is found dead in the hotel room she shared with her husband, a known political figure. As Wesphael is charged with murder and taken into custody, people close to both sides of the case speak out. The police attempt to reconstruct the crime scene while the defense lawyers question the toxicology report; meanwhile, key figure in Veronique's life surfaces. On Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, Netflix released all five episodes.
