Plot Synopsis

WITNESS TO MURDER: DIGITAL EVIDENCE is a one-hour docuseries that reveals how technology has become the new frontier in solving homicides, illustrating the surprising ways that cell phone data, smart watches, fitness trackers, GPS devices, geolocation coordinates, doorbell and traffic cameras, gaming devices, surveillance video, internet searches, apps, and social media messages can be the critical clues in murder investigations. In the series opener, "Web of Lies," with the help of digital forensics, authorities are able to debunk the alibi of one of the last people to see a 24-year-old missing jogger in rural Arkansas, making him the primary suspect in her murder. First time interviews with the victim's family.

On Friday, September 22, 2023 from 9-11pm ET/PT, A&E debuted the season finale of WITNESS TO MURDER: DIGITAL EVIDENCE with back-to-back new episodes:

"Mapping a Murder" (9pm): After the gruesome murder of an aspiring actor in Georgia, police quickly run out of leads. But a new digital forensic tool breathes new life into the investigation, allowing authorities to identify the killer with pinpoint precision.

"Deadly Last Steps" (10pm): After a young woman in South Carolina is found dead in her bathtub, the investigation focuses in on her estranged husband and her boyfriend. An unexpected digital clue has one of these persons of interest accidentally confessing to the murder.
