On Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 8pm ET/PT, The CW premiered the 2016 WORLD DOG AWARDS, hosted again by George Lopez at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California on Saturday, January 9. Kirstin Maldonado -- from the Grammy Award winning group Pentatonix -- performs the song "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" live onstage in honor of Toto, the iconic pup from "The Wizard of Oz," which is receiving The Dog's Life Achievement award, celebrating an iconic dog character in pop culture that has had a huge cultural impact. In addition, the following celebrities presented: Maggie Lawson, Todrick Hall, Paula Abdul, Giuliana Rancic, Roselyn Sanchez, Ta'Rhonda Jones, Shanice Williams, Loni Love, Rico Rodriguez, Joanna Krupa, Caity Lotz, Justin Baldoni, Melissa Rivers, Aubrey Anderson Emmons, Keltie Knight, iJustine, JB Smoove, Amy Brenneman, Mark Feuerstein and Kristine Leahy. Plus, the event featured a live reunion between an active duty U.S. soldier, Brandon Harbaugh, and his loyal dog, Saint. In the spirit of viral videos that feature dogs being reunited with the soldiers who love them, "The Leftovers" actress Amy Brenneman presented the Award of Loyalty to Saint, who has held down the homefront while his human companion, a 15-year Army service member who is a Blackhawk helicopter pilot, defends our country overseas. Saint jumped onto his owner and licked his face, to loud applause from the audience. The segment was arranged in partnership with Dogs On Deployment (www.dogsondeployment.org), a national non-profit that connects service members with volunteers who board their pets during service commitments.
