Plot Synopsis

WOW: WOMEN OF WRESTLING comes from Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss and founder of the original GLOW (Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling) David McLane. The WOW Superhero events are action-packed all-female pro wrestling bouts presented with the theatrical flair of a major concert. The matches pit skilled, compelling wrestlers against each other, as their unique personalities generate intense feelings from WOW's large and dedicated fan base.

"I knew of Jeanie's passion for elevating women's wrestling for several years, so when Mark Burnett told me what MGM Studios has planned for WOW, I decided to get involved," AXS TV Chairman and CEO Mark Cuban said. "AXS TV's long-term success inside the squared circle and broadcasting New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) makes airing WOW a natural fit."

The premiere episode features four powerhouse matches and also includes the arrival of third-generation wrestling superstar, the Born Legend, Tessa Blanchard, as she sets out to immediately make her mark by demanding a Championship Title Match. The season gets off to a roaring start as The Beast looks to destroy fan-favorite Stephy Slays. Then, "The Governor's Daughter," Abilene Maverick, tries not to get burned when she elects to take on Fire in a sizzling singles match; and WOW bombshells "The All Natural" Khloe Hurtz and Eye Candy go toe-to-toe in a battle of beauty and brawn. It all leads up to the highly-anticipated main event, when WOW legend Jungle Grrrl gets her long-awaited shot at redemption, putting her legacy on the line as she faces off with WOW Champion Santana Garrett for the coveted WOW title in a high-stakes match to close the show.

The 24-episode second season of WOW: WOMEN OF WRESTLING premiered Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 8pm ET/5pm PT on AXS TV. Season 2 finds the hit promotion back with a vengeance, presenting a fight card packed with even more talent, spectacular bouts, pageantry and bitter feuds, and a single elimination tournament where the WOW Tag-Team Championship will be crowned. WOW founder David McLane and Stephen Dickey are once again on hand to provide analysis and commentary, as a slate of new and returning Superheroes vie to take WOW's coveted championship belt from reigning champion Tessa Blanchard. Plus, wrestling royalty will be joining the WOW roster. Teal Piper, daughter of the iconic Rowdy Roddy Piper, joins an already stacked roster and will make her professional wrestling debut for WOW at its September 18 & 19 live events. When asked about her intentions in WOW, Piper decreed, "I will be the thorn in Lioness' paw. I will be the one unlocking the cage and unleashing The Beast...See, I'm Teal Piper and I'm too much fun to slay."

In the season opener, the Born Legend, Tessa Blanchard, is the new WOW World Champion and The Beast, Jungle Grrrl, and Havok The Monster Of Madness have lined up to challenge the Champion. A Triple Threat Number One Contender Match will decide who will wrestle Tessa Blanchard for The WOW World Championship! ...or will it?!
