Plot Synopsis
WWE NXT is WWE Next Generation, which was described as "the next evolution of WWE; the next evolution of television history" by Vince McMahon. This series features the young, up-and-coming talent of WWE, giving them a chance to be in the spotlight on national television and compete against WWE Superstars.
After being telecast on Syfy for eight months, WWE NXT moved to WWE.com on October 5, 2010, where it aired as a webcast for nearly two years, ending June 13, 2012. The program moved to Hulu for two years (2012-2014), then transitioned to the WWE Network for five years (2014-2019), moved to USA Network for five years (2019-2024), and changed to The CW Network.
On Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at 8pm ET/PT, WWE NXT returned to cable television, making its network debut on USA Network. The night's matches include: Roderick Strong vs. Velveteen Dream; Bianca Belair, Candice LeRae, Io Shirai, and Mia Yim taking part in a Fatal 4way to find a challenger for Shayna Baszler's NXT Women's title; Matt Riddle vs. Killian Dain; and more. WWE NXT airs live from Full Sail University in Orlando as a two-hour weekly show every Wednesday at 8pm ET on USA Network, except for the first two weeks (Sep 18 & 25), when the first hour airs on USA Network at 8pm (before the final episodes of SUITS), with the second hour streaming on WWE Network at 9pm. The two-hour NXT weekly show is also available on demand on WWE Network every Thursday night beginning at 10pm ET.

On Tuesday, October 1, 2024 from 8-10pm ET/PT, WWE NXT moved to the CW Network. NXT travels to Allstate Arena in Chicago on Tuesday, October 1 with a special appearance by WWE Superstar CM Punk, and the Enterprise Center in St. Louis (with WWE Superstar Randy Orton) on Tuesday, October 8 to kick off its broadcast television debut.
In November 2023, The CW Network and WWE announced a five-year agreement to bring NXT wrestling to broadcast television for the first time ever. As the exclusive home of NXT, The CW will air 52 live weekly events throughout the season.
