Plot Synopsis
Hosted by actor and former WWE writer Freddie Prinze Jr., WWE RIVALS is a one-hour series during which Freddie leads roundtable discussions of WWE luminaries while delving into the storylines and characters behind the epic battles that built the WWE. Each 60-minute episode features archival footage from WWE's library as well as interviews with the Legends involved and the Superstars that watched these rivalries unfold. Rivalries featured this season include "Stone Cold" Steve Austin vs. The Rock, Bret "The Hitman" Hart vs. Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker vs. Kane, John Cena vs. Edge and the "Monday Night Wars" between WCW and WWE.
The sophomore season of WWE RIVALS premiered on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at 10pm ET/PT on A&E, with Freddie Prinze Jr. continuing to lead a roundtable discussion of WWE luminaries. The season begins by exploring the Hulk Hogan vs. Andre The Giant rivalry. The main event at WrestleMania III between Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant was a tipping point for WWE, cementing wrestling's place in pop culture history. But Andre and Hogan's rivalry goes back nearly a decade, where Hogan had to earn the trust of the "8th wonder of the World." The torch was soon passed from Andre to Hogan, who became the biggest star in the history of professional wrestling. Freddie Prinze Jr. leads a roundtable discussion with Booker T, Natalya, D-Von Dudley and John Bradshaw Layfield about this historic rivalry. The new season also features these rivalries: "Stone Cold" Steve Austin vs. Bret Hart, Undertaker vs. Mankind, The Rock vs. John Cena, Triple H vs. Batista, Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns, and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin vs. Shawn Michaels.
Season 3 of WWE RIVALS debuted on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at 8pm ET/PT on A&E. The series returns with actor and former WWE writer, Freddie Prinze Jr. leading a roundtable discussion of WWE Superstars to explore the storylines and characters at the helm of epic rivalries that built the WWE. Each one-hour episode features a roundtable of former WWE Superstars who discuss the dramatic storylines that defined the WWE, speak with Legends who watched these rivalries unfold and analyze archival footage from WWE's library. In the season premiere, the series will examine the infamous animosity between Superstars Triple H vs. The Rock beginning with their heated rivalry over the World Championship in the early 2000s. The season continues with other iconic rivalries including Jake "The Snake" Roberts vs. "Macho Man" Randy Savage; Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels; John Cena vs. Randy Orton; Hardy Boyz vs. Dudley Boyz vs. Edge & Christian; as well as The Miz vs. Daniel Bryan. In the season opener, "Triple H. vs. The Rock," embarking on parallel paths to the top, The Rock and Triple H battled one another both in the ring and behind the scenes which fueled one of the greatest rivalries in sports entertainment history. Freddie Prinze Jr. leads a roundtable of luminaries including Kevin Owens, Johnny Gargano and John Bradshaw Layfield to break down this epic rivalry.

The fourth season of WWE RIVALS premiered on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at 8pm ET/PT on A&E. Each one-hour episode features a roundtable discussion of WWE Superstars including Cody Rhodes, Natalya, Kevin Nash, and others led by actor, comedian and WWE Superfan, Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias, who explores the battles between some of the most iconic Superstars in WWE history. Featuring archival footage and interviews with WWE Legends, viewers get unparalleled access to the feuds that unfolded. New episodes examine influential rivalries including, Hulk Hogan vs. "Macho Man" Randy Savage, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin vs. Booker T, Ric Flair vs. Dusty Rhodes, Triple H vs. Seth Rollins, John Cena vs. Batista and Hulk Hogan vs. The Rock.
In the season opener, "Hulk Hogan vs. 'Macho Man' Randy Savage," Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage were two men who pushed each other to greatness. They were close friends outside the ring and bitter enemies when the bell rang. Together, with Randy's real life wife Elizabeth, they told a tale of redemption and love inside the squared circle that ended in betrayal, tragedy and finally triumph. Gabriel Iglesias leads a roundtable discussion with Kevin Nash, Natalya Neidhart, Cody Rhodes and John Bradshaw Layfield to analyze their monumental rivalry.
