Plot Synopsis

YOUNG ROCK is a half-hour family comedy series that focuses on different chapters of Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's life. As Dwayne Johnson runs for president in 2032, he takes a comedic look back at his extraordinary life through the outrageous stories of his family and youth that shaped him into the man he is today. He explores his childhood years living amid influential wrestling icons while his dad rose to fame in the business, his rebellious teenage years attending high school in Pennsylvania, and his football years teamed up with powerhouse players at the University of Miami. In his telling, Johnson explains that while his experiences have been larger than life, he remains a down-to-earth guy who still relates to the American people. In the series opener, "Working the Gimmick," as Dwayne Johnson runs for president in 2032, he reflects on his surreal life that's helped shape him into the man he is today. From growing up in a resilient family surrounded by wrestling icons, navigating rebellious teen years, to playing NCAA football at the U. This is how the boy became the man.

On Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at 8pm ET/PT, NBC premiered "A Christmas Peril," a holiday episode of YOUNG ROCK. An unexpected guest shows Dewey that this is the first in a long line of terrible Christmases. In 1987, Rocky and Dwayne take jobs as a mall Santa and elf. In 1993, Dwayne reluctantly spends a disastrous Christmas with Coach O.

The sophomore season of YOUNG ROCK premiered on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at 8pm ET/PT on NBC. Season 2 elves back into Dwayne Johnson's life, continuing the storylines from season one while also introducing new chapters we haven't yet seen. As Dwayne and his loving, resilient family face new challenges and meet new wild characters of professional wrestling, Dwayne contemplates embracing the grind of professional wrestling himself. The show will explore the crazy rollercoaster that has shaped Dwayne into the man he is today and the larger-than-life people he's met along the way. In the season opener, "Unprecedented Fatherhood," as the 2032 election nears, Dwayne reflects on what it means to be a father. In 1984, little Dewey vies for his father's attention after Rocky becomes the WWF tag team champ. In 1987, teenage Dwayne arrives in Nashville to unexpected circumstances. In 1996, adult Dwayne struggles in the Canadian Football League.

Season 3 of YOUNG ROCK premiered on Friday, November 4, 2022 at 8:30pm ET/PT on NBC. After losing the 2032 election, Dwayne Johnson is ready to withdraw from political life for good when he gets an unexpected call. In 1985, Rocky learns there are consequences to crossing Vince. In 1997, Dwayne finds fans hate him even when he's a winner. After a three-week break, YOUNG ROCK returned with new episodes on Friday, January 7, 2023 at 8:30pm ET/PT. In the winter premiere, "World Pacific Wrestling," It's 1985 in Hawaii. Ata and Rocky try to outmatch Lia's promotion with a stable of new big-name wrestlers. Left behind at the after-school program, Dewey falls in with a crowd of latchkey kids.
