Plot Synopsis

Jonathan Scott prepares a family's current home for a successful sale, while his brother, Drew, searches for their next property, sells their renovated home, and buys their new house. Each 60-minute episode features a single homeowner, including: Julie and Blake, who are searching for a spacious one-story property with plenty of perks to replace the home they've outgrown, now that they have three children younger than three-years-old; Robert and Marie, who gamble on a short sale as Jonathan deals with their old home, which has water damaged floors, confused rooms, and a master bath turned storage area; Janna and Michael, who search for the perfect suburban home while Jonathan revamps the cramped kitchen in the starter home they've outgrown; Terri and Paul, who must quickly relocate to a new school district for their sons' education, while maximizing their home's value and finding their perfect house in a new location; David, a devoted widowed father of five, who wants to downsize to a smaller home so he can afford to pay for college tuition; and many others who want to complete a property swap.

In the Season 3 premiere, Jonathan is determined to give a property the polish it needs so that its owners, Abby and David, can sell it for top dollar and move into a forever home to welcome their second child. Meanwhile, Drew must find a budget dream home that matches the family's extensive wish list, while negotiating the couple's differences in opinions about buying a fixer upper or a move-in ready home.

BUYING AND SELLING returned for a new season on HGTV on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 9pm ET/PT, shortly after a seven-hour marathon (1-8pm) of encore episodes. In the season opener, "Mayra & Chris," newlyweds Mayra and Chris and their blended family are eager to move into a new home with dedicated spaces for everyone to enjoy. But their bachelor pad-style house needs a major overhaul before they can sell it for top dollar and afford the home of their dreams. Drew and Jonathan step in to turn the family's fortunes around. The home has been sitting on the market for a month with no offers, but Jonathan's open floor plan breathes new life into the home's stale decor. Meanwhile, Drew searches for a luxurious new home complete with a man-cave for Chris, a big yard for the boys, and a tranquil retreat for Mayra.

But their current property is stuck in the 90s and will need a complete overhaul before they can afford to make the switch. Enter Property Brothers Drew and Jonathan Scott. They've got a plan for a total property facelift and Jonathan gets started with the drastic changes required to get the time warp home ready for a close-up.
