Plot Synopsis

CARIBBEAN LIFE is a half-hour reality series that follows families who are looking for a house in the Caribbean. In each 30-minute episode, a local realtor/broker helps a client find a new home by showing them three properties. Whether they've moved together from St. Louis to St. Croix or separately from the mainland to Puerto Rico, each client is now looking for a new home for their family. This series features the following local brokers: Chris Hanley, a realtor on St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands, who showed homes to Dave and Julie Sommer and Corinne Farinola & Patrick Kralik; Gustavo Martin, who showed properties on Vieques, Puerto Rico to clients like Carl and Janna Halberg and the La Porte Family; Arun Jagtiani, who revealed buying opportunities to Johnny Kelvin and Ona Struwer on St. Maarten; and Jonathan Schaede, who took Cliff and Janine Peek shopping for a home on St. Maarten. HGTV aired a sneak peek of this series on New Year's Day 2014, showing back-to-back St. Croix episodes at 3pm ET/PT. At that time, even though the production company had filmed at least six episodes, HGTV had no other episodes scheduled. Three months later, HGTV broadcast the official series premiere on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at 8pm ET/PT, showing back-to-back new episodes featuring Sint Maarten and Vieques,Puerto Rico. On Sunday, January 4, 2015, HGTV premiered the official second season premiere of CARIBBEAN LIFE, showing back-to-back new episodes from 9-10pm ET/PT, only three days after the cable channel broadcast a Season 2 sneak peek on New Year's Day 2015. In the season opener, a couple who owns a popular barbecue restaurant in West Virginia, wants to start a new life in St. Croix. Then, in the night's second episode, after fifteen years in Seattle, a worn down couple moves to Bocas Del Toro, Panama, where they can start a new life.
On Thursday, March 28, 2019 from 8-9pm ET/PT, HGTV premiered the 16th season of CARIBBEAN LIFE, debuting back-to-back new episodes:

"Working to Be With Family in Puerto Rico" (8pm): A young New Yorker is eager to escape the city that never sleeps to spend more time on the beaches of Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico. She's tired of crashing with family members and hopes to find a modern condo of her own close to the beach with plenty of bedrooms so friends can visit.

"Slowing Down in Anguilla" (8:30pm): After 20 years of 14-hour days, a hardworking couple trades Pennsylvania snow for the tropical waters of Anguilla. They're ready to slow down and enjoy the fruits of their labor, so they hope to find a dream home with ocean views, a modern style and an outdoor shower -- a luxury she never had in the States.
