Plot Synopsis

In DRAGONS: RACE TO THE EDGE, Hiccup and Toothless lead the Dragon Riders as they soar beyond the borders of Berk and discover the mysterious Dragon eye -- an ancient artifact filled with secrets that will lead them to new lands filled with undiscovered dragons. But the heroes find themselves pursued by marauding dragonhunters, who will stop at nothing to seize the power of the Dragon Eye. This series takes place one year before the events in HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 2, and according to Executive Producer Doug Sloan, it "represents the college years" for the main characters, because "they're striking out on their own for the first time, flying farther than ever before, confident and independent but not yet burdened by the heavy responsibilities that will come to them soon enough." On Friday, June 26, 2015 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, Netflix released all 13 episodes of DRAGONS: RACE TO THE EDGE, which the streaming service initially called an all-new series but other online sources referred to it as a third season of DREAMWORKS DRAGONS. On Friday, February 17, 2017 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, Netflix released a new season of DRAGONS: RACE TO THE EDGE with a season opener, "Defenders of the Wing (Part 2)," that picks up with the conclusion of the previous season. Netflix released the 13-episode fifth season of DRAGONS: RACE TO THE EDGE on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT. Despite the Riders' recent victory, the Hunters become a bigger threat than ever when their new leader finds a way to harness Singetails for flight. In the season opener, "Living on the Edge," while trying to stabilize the volcano that threatens to destroy Dragon's Edge, the Riders discover troubling evidence of new Hunter activity.

Season 6 premiered on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, as Netflix released the entire 13-episode season. In order to uncover information about the legendary King of Dragons, the Riders scramble to find all five Dragon Eye lenses before the Flyers do. Season 6 opens with Hiccup growing wary when Gruffnut arrives on the twins' 19th birthday to administer a Thorston coming-of-age ritual involving three dangerous challenges.
