Plot Synopsis

This modernized reboot of the classic '80s soap opera DYNASTY follows two of America's wealthiest families, the Carringtons and the Colbys, as they feud for control over their fortune and their children. The series is told primarily through the perspectives of two women at odds: Fallon Carrington -- daughter of billionaire Blake Carrington -- and her soon-to-be stepmother, Cristal -- a Hispanic woman marrying into this WASP family and America's most powerful class. Fallon is charismatic, cunning and poised to become the new COO of her father's global energy empire -- or so she thinks. When her father summons her and her brother, Steven, home to the family compound in Atlanta, Fallon is horrified to learn that the reunion isn't to announce her promotion -- but rather to make the acquaintance of stepmother-to-be, Cristal. Cristal is stunning -- and almost as young as Fallon, as Fallon is quick to point out -- ut she isn't just some flimsy gold-digger to be scared off. Cristal is driven, principled, a savvy publicity maven at Carrington Atlantic, and she truly loves Blake. However, the wealth and privilege of the Carringtons' world proves challenging to her, as she clashes with the staff, including Blake's butler, Anders, as well as Fallon, who all make it very clear Cristal doesn't belong. Family dynasties flow through blood, and Fallon would sooner draw blood than call Cristal "mom." Fallon asks Culhane, the family's chauffeur -- and Fallon's secret lover -- to help expose Cristal for the fraud Fallon thinks she is. But when that backfires, and Blake chooses Cristal over his own daughter, Fallon sides up to Blake's biggest rival, Jeff Colby, mixing business and pleasure to seek her revenge...leaving a jealous Culhane to watch from the sidelines. While the Carringtons' rocky relationships prove the theory that family sticks together no matter what, Cristal is reminded of exactly that when her nephew, Sammy Jo, arrives with a suitcase full of secrets from Cristal's past. Now Cristal's carefully concealed history could bring her future crashing down -- and who knows who she might take down with her.

The sophomore season of DYNASTY premiered on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 8pm ET/PT on The CW. In the season opener, "Twenty-Three Skidoo," on the eve of Carrington Atlantic's 100th anniversary, our splintered family struggles to rise from the ashes to redefine themselves as past mistakes emerge, new alliances are forged, and the fate of the Carringtons' legacy falls squarely on Fallon's shoulders.

Season 3 of DYNASTY premiered on Friday, October 11, 2019 at 9pm ET/PT on The CW. In the new season, the Carrington family faces the unknown on all fronts. Dealing with the fallout from the second season finale, Fallon is surrounded by a host of rivals looking to destroy her, the most wicked of which is her own brother, Adam, who takes the idea of "sibling rivalry" to a whole new level of crazy. At the same time, Fallon and Liam attempt to keep their romance sane, but secrets and skeletons from her closet will make that more difficult than ever. And after a year of "me" time, Blake jumps back in the game, ruthlessly determined to reclaim what's rightfully his: the family company Fallon sold out from under him. Only problem is that the newest Colby in town, Blake's half-sister Dominique, is here to stay and she isn't backing down from a fight over what's rightfully hers, either. Meanwhile, Sammy Jo enters an exhilarating phase of the upper-class life, but amongst the thrills of his newfound freedom, there will be dangers lurking. Plus, who knows what faces -- new and old, friendly and unfriendly -- will pop up! This fractured family will have to find a way to come together if they are to claw their way back to the top of the billionaire mountain. In the season opener, "Guilt Trip To Alaska," on the eve of the Carrington Foundation Fundraiser, drama immediately floods the scene as bodies are pulled from the lake on the Carrington Estate. As reporters and detectives move in, Blake, Fallon, Cristal, Adam, and Anders realize they need to get their stories straight very quickly. Dominique Deveraux focuses on her missing son, while Michael Culhane tries to prove that he's been framed... from behind bars. Sam plays comforting friend to both Fallon and Kirby as he continues to work on the hotel. Fallon finds herself haunted by Trixie's death in unexpected ways. Kirby visits Culhane in the slammer and returns to Carrington Manor to find she is no longer welcome. Dominique tries to steal the spotlight at the Fundraiser, Fallon becomes charitable, and Blake loses something incredibly valuable.

Season 4 of DYNASTY premiered on Friday, May 7, 2021 at 9pm ET/PT on The CW. After somehow surviving her bachelorette party in the third season finale, Fallon just wants to get married to Liam and have a nice, calm life. Those aren't two words usually associated with Carringtons, and they won't be this season either as the happy couple faces their biggest challenges yet. Danger and temptation are as abundant as champagne and diamonds! Speaking of holy matrimony, Blake and Cristal's relationship hit some blasphemous turbulence last season as they each strayed, and this season they'll work even harder to make a marriage last. Unfortunately, the universe has other plans -- as do multiple enemies -- which throws their fate up in the air. Meanwhile, after playing double agent with his parents, Adam realizes he needs to do whatever it takes to make a name for himself outside of his massive family shadow. As he ruthlessly climbs the ladder of success, things with girlfriend Kirby get messy and put her at odds with her father, Anders. In secret, where betrayal runs deep in the Carrington world, an unlikely partnership between Alexis and her sister-in-law turned mother-in-law Dominique is formed as they set out to take back what they feel is rightfully theirs, even it means deceiving their husband-slash-son Jeff. At the same time, Sam looks to expand his hotel and his heart, with help from Culhane. Bonds will be forged and broken and friendships will be tested when they head down a darker path than expected. The road ahead is filled with betrayal, extravagance, and deception for our favorite billionaire family, and that's on the good days. After all, as we've learned, there's always someone lurking around the corner ready to destroy a Dynasty.

The fifth season of DYNASTY premiered with back-to-back episodes on Monday, December 20, 2021 from 8-10pm ET/PT on The CW. DYNASTY will then take a three-month break and return with new Season 5 episodes on Friday, March 11, 2022 at 9pm on The CW. In the season opener, "Let's Start Over Again" (9pm), fallout from Blake's gala finally begins to settle and Blake and Cristal work on the next phase of his campaign. In his hour of need, Liam turns to Sam and Kirby. As Alexis remains in jail and proclaims her innocence, Amanda sets out to see who might be responsible for the murder. Adam continues to be suspicious of Amanda, and the feeling is reciprocated. Meanwhile, Jeff starts to heal. Dominique still doesn't believe everything Jeff said when he was sick but Culhane believes there may be some truth to Jeff's suspicions. After these two episodes, the series took a three-month break, before returning with new episodes on Friday, March 11, 2022.
