Plot Synopsis
In each one-hour episode of ENGINEERING DISASTERS, engineers reveal the surprising details behind the world's deadliest bridge, building, ship, and plane disasters caught on camera. On Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 10pm ET/PT, History Channel premiered a special episode of ENGINEERING DISASTERS, but the cable channel had no other episodes on its schedule at that time. This special episode, "When Big Things Go Wrong," features socking footage of collapses, collisions, and explosions, including: a massive bridge falling into the river below; a high-speed train de-railing as it's coming into the station; and a hotel under construction that crashes down into a busy city street. The question is -- what happened and why? Now eyewitness accounts and expert analysis unravel the events, and innovative graphics uncover the inside story. These are some of the most destructive failures in engineering history -- explained.
