Plot Synopsis

Hosted and executive produced by John Walsh, IN PURSUIT WITH JOHN WALSH is a one-hour docuseries that takes the audience on a journey through the eyes of family members, friends and authorities who are desperate for resolution, detailing two fugitives and two missing children each hour. Every week, John and his son, Callahan Walsh, dissect each unique story from top to bottom, sharing current interviews with surviving family members and friends, chasing down new clues and reviewing the evidence in each case. Callahan leads the operation on the ground, working in tandem with the community and local authorities to search for persons-of-interest. In partnership with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), the series also feature age-progression photos and descriptions in the hopes that viewers can provide new leads to their whereabouts. In addition, the series utilizes crime scene photos, telephone calls and location-specific re-creations, turning these cases into active hunts with help from viewers at home. The audience can help track down these persons of interest by contacting an active call center and dedicated online hub staffed by trained operators, who accept anonymous tips and alert the proper authorities. Viewers are also encouraged to connect using the hashtag #TeamInPursuit.

The 12-episode second season of IN PURSUIT WITH JOHN WALSH premiered on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at 10pm ET/PT on Investigation Discovery. In the season opener, "American Nightmare," John follows the trail of fugitive Leroy Headley who called 911 in South Burlington, Vermont, claiming to have shot his girlfriend. Police set down a dark and twisting path that unravels a history of violence, but authorities believe they're not too far behind this alleged killer and are hoping ID's viewers can help bring him to justice once and for all. Then, Cal goes on the ground in Abilene, Texas and uncovers hidden truths behind the case of Jeffrey Forrest, a church daycare worker who is accused of sexual abuse of children in his care. But after he failed to turn up at trial, police are now searching for a dangerous alleged sexual predator on the run.

Season 3 of IN PURSUIT WITH JOHN WALSH debuted on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at 10pm ET/PT on Investigation Discovery with the first of 12 new episodes. "Season 3 is underway, and so far of the 24 episodes of IN PURSUIT which have aired, 26 of the profiled fugitives are in custody, and seven missing children have been recovered. The best part? Cal and I are just getting started," said host and executive producer, John Walsh. In the season opener, "Terror in Texas," John searches for Erik Arceneaux, a prime suspect in the murder of a devoted single mom, whose family needs justice. Later, Cal learns the dark truth behind Mark Blevins, an accused sexual predator who has been on the run for over thirty years.

IN PURSUIT WITH JOHN WALSH returned for its fourth season on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at 9pm ET/PT on Investigation Discovery. Season 4 carries forward John Walsh's lifelong mission of tracking down fugitives from justice, finding missing children, and empowering the public to help support a more effective and accountable criminal justice system. In the season opener, "Lying in Wait," John is in pursuit of William Strand -- police say he killed his ex-girlfriend who was also the mother of his son. Later, Cal hunts for Leslie Lagrotta, a suspect accused of sexually assaulting women in central Florida for over a decade.

Immediately following the Season 4 debut, Investigation Discovery premiered "In Pursuit: Hot on the Trail," a one-hour extension of the series, where the father and son duo behind dozens of criminal captures take a deep dive into cases, give real-time updates, and perhaps most poignantly, provide a deeper understanding of the Walsh family mission in this special hour. Moderated by special correspondent, Michelle Sigona, a variety of experts involved with the cases will round out the hour, highlighting the results of an engaged audience and a call to action to help make a difference in even more unsolved cases to find fugitives and recover missing children.

On Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at 10pm ET/PT, Investigation Discovery premiered "Captured," a new one-hour IN PURSUIT special. John and Callahan Walsh celebrate their 37 captures to date. It will look back at the investigation of Luis Frias, who allegedly murdered his common-law wife in front of their kids. After the episode aired, Frias was captured in Mexico thanks to an anonymous viewer tip. Then, Callahan Walsh revisits the case of William Stanson, a Michigan father accused of sexually assaulting a group of young women as well as his own daughter. He was caught in Mexico as well thanks to another tipster. Last, the show revisits the 2019 homicide of Alyssa Cannon and her 4-year-old son Brayden at the hands of Jory Worthen. Since airing, Worthen was captured in a motel outside of Burbank, California and was extradited back to Arkansas.
