Plot Synopsis

Beck, a new program, becomes the unlikely leader of a revolution during an era of the TRON storyline that transpires after the 1982 feature film TRON and before the story of TRON: LEGACY, the 2010 theatrical movie. General Tesler, a power hungry dictator and henchman of the notorious Clu, has just occupied Argon City, a growing metropolis in a far off corner of The Grid, where Beck's best friend, Bodhi, is ruthlessly derezzed by Clu's army. Teenager Beck seeks justice for this lost friend, mounting a rebellion that captures the attention of Tron, the legendary protector of The Grid, who sees potential in Beck and recruits him as his apprentice. Tron pushes his protege to his limits, often leaving Beck questioning his ability to live up to his infallible mentor, by teaching him fighting skills and guiding him as he grows into a courageous, powerful leader. To the citizens of The Grid, Beck is an ordinary young mechanic working at Able's garage, trying to adjust to the new and terrifying realities of living under a military occupation. But secretly he dons the mantle of Tron, the greatest warrior The Grid has ever seen. Labeled with the moniker of The Renegade, he quickly becomes the archenemy of Tesler and his oppressive forces, which are led by polished field commander Paige and untrustworthy base commander Pavel. Beck struggles to conceal his identity as The Renegade to his best friends and co-workers -- the perpetual underdog Zed and the fiercely independent optimist Mara. Chosen to become the new protector of the system, he transcends his programming and sparks a revolution to fight for the freedom of The Grid. Disney Channel aired a sneak peek of this series on Friday, May 18, 2012 at 9:30pm ET, and three weeks later, Disney XD aired the official series premiere on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 9pm ET.
