Plot Synopsis

BOOZE TRAVELER: BEST BARS is a half-hour reality that follows cocktail connoisseur Jack Maxwell, as he sets out on a mission to find the best bars and drinks in the United States for any and every occasion. The first two specials -- which premiered on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at 10pm and 10:30pm ET/PT on Travel Channel -- were filmed around the Denver, Lake Tahoe, CA, and Greater Los Angeles area, as Maxwell hunts down prohibition-style bars hidden from view, as well as bars with spectacular and unforgettable views. During these specials, Maxwell gets an all-access pass to the secret world of drinking that goes on behind closed doors, bookcases and vending machines, and also enjoys bars that deliver cool drinks and stunning scenery. And, while Maxwell is figuring out the best speakeasies, beer gardens and rooftop bars in America, he also keeps doing what he does best -- getting to know people and places through a cocktail. BEST BARS returned for its official series premiere six months later on Monday, April 24, 2017, as Travel Channel debuted back-to-back new episodes. In the series opener (10pm), "Dockside Drinks," Jack tours his favorite dockside bars starting with the largest waterfront bar in Florida and a British-style pub on the docks of Baltimore. Next, he's off to a marina bar in Redondo Beach, CA, and finishes off at a Sausalito bar that belongs in both the cocktail and rock 'n' roll hall of fame. Then, in the night's second new episode (10:30pm), "Aspen," Jack finds the best bars to hit after a day on the slopes in Aspen, CO. He tries champagne sabering at the high-end St. Regis Hotel, cocktails in a hot tub at 39 Degrees and stops by neighborhood favorites Jimmy's and Woody Creek Tavern to get out of the cold.
