Plot Synopsis
PEOPLE MAGAZINE PRESENTS: CRIMES OF THE 2010S is a 10-episode series that takes viewers through each year of the 2010s highlighting the most intriguing and chilling crimes of the decade. Each 60-minute episode reveals the true narrative behind some of the most notorious stories, with a new installment debuting each weeknight (Mon-Fri) over a two-week period -- from Monday, August 19 through Friday, August 30:
"2010: Who Is Lori Ruff?" (Monday, August 19, 2024 at 8pm): On Christmas Eve of 2010, police find Lori Ruff dead and questions begin to swirl; as the investigation unfolds, detectives discover nothing about Lori is what it seems; they work tirelessly to figure out who was this wife and mother.
"2011: Tennessee Stalker" (Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at 8pm): One morning in 2011, a 20-year-old nursing student vanishes without a trace; panic sets in when her brother finds fresh blood outside of their house; what follows is a notorious missing person's case in Tennessee history.
"2012: The So-Cal Killer" (Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at 8pm): At the start of 2012, southern California has been under siege for two years by a serial killer targeting the homeless; however, when police accuse one man of the murder of his mother and brother, he discovers all the murders are connected.
"2013: Match Made in Hell" (Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 8pm): In 2013, a 42-year-old electrical engineer responds to a Craigslist advertisement promising companionship in exchange for only $100; unfortunately for Laferrara, this decision will have deadly consequences.
"2014: The Deadliest Taboo" (Friday, August 23, 2024 at 8pm): Fights over land and money divide an eastern Washington family amid allegations of incest, betrayal, and murder.
"2015: Broken Arrow Murders" (Monday, August 26, 2024 at 8pm): In 2015, the identification of five family members brutally murdered in their Oklahoma home sends shockwaves through their town and nation.
"2016: The Ghost Killer" (Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 8pm): In November 2016, a 16-year-old girl receives terrifying text messages from an unknown number; two days later, her mother finds her dead from a gunshot wound; now, police must send two young teens undercover to try and trap her killer.
"2017: Innocent Prey" (Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at 8pm): A young mother looking for love online meets the man of her dreams; after her baby goes missing on their first date, investigators find themselves in a race against time to catch an elusive predator and untangle their web of lies.
"2018: To Live and Die in L.A." (Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 8pm): A 25-year-old Macedonian woman with aspirations of stardom moves to Hollywood to pursue her dreams of becoming famous; on February 23, 2018, the blonde-haired, blue-eyed bombshell leaves her apartment and vanishes, never to be seen again.
"2019: The Valley of Hell" (Friday, August 30, 2024 at 8pm): The sudden disappearance of a 15-year-old high school student sends shockwaves throughout her community; investigators rush to locate the young teen before it's too late.
